Here are the meds they gave me:
The white ones are my Vicodin.
It kind of makes me numb to everything...
And I feel okay when I take it,
I just don't recommend standing up or trying to walk. I sure as hell stumble like an inebriated fool.
The red and grey ones are my antibiotics.
They're to prevent infection.
Personally, I'd rather NOT take them if I don't NEED them,
But I wouldn't want my mouth to get infected. So, I guess I have no choice.
The little red ones are ibuprofen, for pain, I guess?
Because, you know, I need more painkillers.
I just had the strangest feeling of deja vu. Weird.
Anyways, yesterday when I went into the surgeon's office, I'd taken Valium to "calm me down"
and FUCK was I loopy. I couldn't walk. And I was giggling like hell.
So they strapped me into the chair thing,
And gave me an IV. But it wasn't really a big IV, the circumference of the syringe was a tiny bit bigger. Then I felt the general anesthesia like...spreading through my arm. The last thing I remember saying was to the nurse: "If I look retarded, don't laugh at me"
Then I don't remember anything after that, except that I had a dream while they were operating on me...?
Then I woke up, and I sort of layed there for a while...and I couldn't close my mouth, but I couldn't tell why.
That was because NOT ONLY was I on Valium and local anesthetic, but they'd given me general anesthetic in my mouth,
So my tongue, cheek, and chin were all numb.
That, and there was gauze stuffed into my mouth. Which, obviously, I couldn't feel.
So I stumbled with my dad's arm in mine to the car, and listened to Godspeed You! Black Emperor on the way home.
Then I found out that I couldn't take my pain medication until I ate something, which hadn't been since like five P.M. the previous day...
So my dad made me some soup, WHICH WAS HARD AS HELL TO EAT.
Why? Because I couldn't feel my lower lip at ALL.
It fucking felt like...some foreign entity attached to my body. You know, Cris used to tell me that my lips had the texture of bubble gum, and I was always like, "That's weird."
But yesterday? I totally understood what he meant.
Anyway, it was so hard to eat the soup because I couldn't feel it when I put the spoon to my mouth, and if I DID spill anything down my lip, I didn't know it until it hit my chest. Since my chin was numb too. It sucked.
So my dad came back with my prescription, and I got to take two Vicodin ( >8D )
and apparently I have to take 8 antibiotic pills a day. Along with the extra-strength Tylenol.
Oh, and my mouth was bleeding like hell. I spit up like...a cup of blood, I kid you not. Maybe even two cups. And it's really strange, because any time I eat something, I feel like there's food stuck there, except then I realize that my gums are so swollen that they've swollen around my teeth. That, and I can feel the stitches on the side of my tongue. Which, by the way, are not black. They're brown. (Wtf?)
Oh, and also? They didn't stitch the holes from the top wisdom teeth they took out. Now there's these gaping holes, and if I get at a certain angle where I can see them, do you know what I see at the end of those holes? My jaw bone. That's right, MY FUCKING JAW BONE.
-lesigh-
The first day, my cheeks didn't swell too much.
But today, I can feel the bruises on my jaw, and I can tell that I'm getting poofier. Don't worry, I'll take a picture for every day so you can see how I'm looking post-op.
Hahaha.
Chipmunky Melissa. Fun, no?
Otherwise, I've just been laying down for like two days. Walking is dangerous. I stumble.
I go back to work on Friday, I don't know how I feel about that.
But I get paid tomorrow! $500 motherfucking dollars! Yes!
AND---tomorrow is Zero's birthday :)
Anway, I'm done rambling.
